Greg entered the Performing Arts after completing a National Diploma in Drama at Pretoria Technikon in 1984. He joined the Loft Theatre Company at NAPAC in 1985. He spent three years with this innovative group where the focus fell on physical theatre. In 1988 he moved to Johannesburg and began his freelance career.
He has acted in over 44 professional theatre productions, playing both lead and support characters. Highlights include “Two Week’s With The Queen” (1995), “Love! Valour! Compassion ” (1996) “King Lear” (1998), “Vlerkdans”(1999), “Anthony and Cleopatra” (1999) and ‘Sella ou Storie’ with “Same Old Story” (2004). He recntly performed in a staged reading of King Lear, and toured to the Klein Karoo Kunste fees with a festival of Chekov Works.
Greg has acted in two plays that had European tours, “Kwamanzi” and “Horn of Sorrow”.
He has played substantial roles in over ten major television series the most recent being ‘7de Laan’ on SABC 2 and ‘Isidingo’ on SABC 3.
He has appeared in numerous feature films, the most recent being ‘The Sorcerers Apprentice’ for Peakviewing Productions, and ‘Mr Bones. His last major feature was ‘Drum; The Sofiatown Stories’.
Greg has directed nine plays, mostly for festival performances.
He recently wrote and directed ‘Walking Tall’, an educational show about palaeontology and ‘The Cradle of Humankind’ heritage site.
Greg directed the Operas ‘Don Pasquale’ (2001), ‘Lucia Di Lamamoor’ (2002) and ‘De Fledermaus’ (2002) for Salon Music.
He has worked as a presenter on the television series “In Touch”.
Greg conducted Environmental Theatre Workshops, (sponsored by Southern Life) for over six years, and has worked with teachers, students and theatre professionals in these workshops.
He is also involved in ‘Early Man’ workshops, which explore our rich Palaeo anthropological heritage.
He has been involved in the conception and execution of several Industrial Theatre presentations, and was a member of the “Theatre Sports” team.
He also does a substantial amount of Voice Over work.
