Currently residing in South Africa, Joff van Reenen is one of Southern Africa’s most internationally experienced auctioneers. Having conducted auctions in southern Africa, Dubai, Hong Kong, England and the USA in the fields of residential, commercial, retail and industrial real estate, motor vehicles, the mining industry and all forms of movable assets.
Having served for the top auctioneering firms in both Cape Town and Durban for many years he is now based in Johannesburg where he conducts hundreds of auctions annually for high end corporate clients and travels extensively across the country for their specific requirements.
Joff regularly travels abroad each year to keep up to date with the latest auction techniques and strategies and has been a member of the NAA (National Auctioneers Association of America) for the past 4 years. He is also the first non American to obtain the CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) designation and is the first in South Africa to hold such title.
Locally in South Africa he has conducted mostly high profile, high value sales for listed property funds as well as major mining conglomerates such as De Beers and Anglo American at their mining sites across the Southern continent. He has been involved in the 5 largest banking institutions in South Africa as both auctioneer and consultant as both his auction skills and extensive international experience are highly regarded. Joff currently holds the post of Director and Lead Auctioneer for Savile Row Auctions, the company recently broke the South African record for the highest confirmed bid ever achieved on auction of 74.5 million for an entire city block in the nations capital of Pretoria.... and this was done on their 3rd auction after just 4 months of trading!
Joff is regarded as one of South Africa’s most high profile charity/benefit auctioneers and has been involved with some of the largest and most distinguished charity organisations in the world and has helped raise millions to benefit heir causes such as Virgin, The Kellogg’s Trust, The Nelson Mandela Foundation, 46664, The Oppenheimer Trust, Princess Caroline of Monaco, President Bill Clinton and The United Nations World Health Organisation.
