Amy is a multi-talented artist who got her start in country music. Having played the piano since the age of 4, She is a classically trained pianist and vocalist who has been performing and singing her entire life. Amy started her musical journey singing with a large Baptist Church that had a great music program. After years of performing with local musicians, she started her own band and began her nationwide tour on the country music circuit. Amy has over fifteen years of professional singing experience performing in front of large audiences. From 2004-2012 she opened for country music greats like Trace Atkins, Clint Black, Charlie Daniels, Phil Vassar and many more. In 2007, she recorded her first album, "Right Here Right Now". Today, Amy has transitioned into a Jazz vocalist with recent openings for Tony Orlando, Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon. She has been captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and exquisite style as she possesses a charm and grace reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood. Whether she is performing on the main stage with a full band or as a solo singer / pianist in a more intimate lounge setting, guests are naturally drawn to her. Her striking looks and powerful yet sultry vocals have made her a favorite with any audience.
As a media professional, she is the “Voice and Face” of Mutual of Omaha Mortgage , as well as, Host for the National TV Show “The American Dream” and '"Lifestyles San Diego".
Raised in San Dimas, California, Amy has been singing and playing piano since the age of three. Starting in 2001 Amy entered the business world as a wholesale mortgage lending professional and quickly achieved top sales leading to sales management positions. In 2004 she began simultaneously growing her music career. While in Nashville, she caught the attention of many industry professionals for her powerful vocals and passion for supporting our troops. Amy was featured in the July 2009 issue of Country Weekly Magazine, the September 2009 cover story for Nashville Music Guide and most recent 2018 cover story The Connecter Magazine in San Diego. Her contagious spirit and her passion resonate to all who meet her. Amy’s Patriotism shines through in her known traditional version of the National Anthem. In 2011, at the request of the United States Army, Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion, Amy was chosen to perform the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium for the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. Since 2008, Amy has opened for many country music greats including Trace Adkins, Clint Black, Charlie Daniels, Little Texas, Phil Vassar, Josh Gracin and others. Amy's single “Coming Home” written by Dave Adams and produced by Paul McKenna is a celebration song for our heroes. Amy was officially endorsed by the American Veterans (AMVETS) service foundation for California from 2009 through 2011 when she decided to dedicate her musical talents completely to the Veterans and Troops for all her performances. Amy’s oldest son, Ryan Scruggs stepped into lead guitar and shared the stage and dream with her by performing alongside her. Ryan is also credited with writing much of their new music.
In 2012, after years of touring the national stage full time, Amy decided to re-enter the business world specializing in business development, coaching, public speaking, and media training. Amy is the host for a national TV show “The American Dream TV” as well as '"lifestyles San Diego", “Retiring Right” and “Veterans One” with Ignite Now Media. Amy is also the media face and voice of Mutual of Omaha Mortgage sharing the same studio with Ignite Now Media. As a keynote speaker and Media coach to business professionals, she is empowering them in ”on-camera” skills, confidence, self-awareness, and articulating a concise message. She uses her career tools and impactful stories to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
She still enjoys her musical performances including multiple appearances at the San Diego Padres Stadium for Military Appreciation games as well as the ceremony for the commissioning of the new U.S. Naval Warship “USS Rafael Peralta”. She is also known for her jazz vocals/ piano playing and performing at private events including recent shows opening for Tony Orlando, Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon.
Amy has overcome tremendous circumstances and obstacles in her careers in both industries and now uses that to bring hope and encouragement through her music, speaking and coaching. She continues to use her life experiences as humorous stories to help encourage people to have a healthy, positive perspective for daily life and its many challenges. She is continually dedicated to her support of the military, veteran and non-profit community through her singing appearances, TV show, community involvement, and her 501c3 organization https://www.voiceforheroes.org/ Amy is also honored to be the spokesperson for Future Legends Fund 501c3 partnered with the Rancho Santa Fe California Rotary Club.
Amy is married with six children and now resides in San Diego, California.
